Sheffield Magistrates' Court heard today, January 8, how Mohammed Mumin, 29, of no fixed abode, had visited his parents’ home on Torksey Road, Sheffield, but when they refused to let him in he caused the damage.
Mumin pleaded guilty to two counts of causing damage from January 7 and admitted failing to comply with a previously imposed community order by failing to attend probation appointments.

Andrew Dalrymple, defending, said: “He is on the very edge of tumbling into a difficult place in life.”
Mr Dalrymple added that Mumin was born in Somalia and his parents fled a raging conflict and migrated through Europe before settling in the UK where Mumin was raised.
In 2014, Mumin returned to Somalia, according to Mr Dalrymple, where he met his wife and they have a child but he was traumatised by further conflict and returned to the UK.

Magistrates adjourned the case until January 29 to consider a probation report. Mumin was granted conditional bail on the grounds he does not contact his parents.
