The faces of 9 South Yorkshire criminals put behind bars in August

Judges have jailed a number of offenders at Sheffield Crown Court during August and here are some of the most shocking cases.

Below are some of the more serious cases to have passed through Sheffield Crown Court recently including a robbery, an affray and a man who used an imitation firearm to threaten students.

Offenders have been involved in a street brawl, a drunken assault on a woman, a robbery of a woman at a cash machine and a robbery where an elderly man was assaulted.

One drug-fuelled driver was also involved in a police pursuit and damaged parked cars before he was captured.

But judges have punished these offenders appropriately with custodial sentences of different lengths.
