An urban explorer has revealed the shocking risks taken by children at a derelict NHS site in Sheffield.
The teenager, who asked not to be named, said groups of up to 30 were playing at Fulwood House, which includes a burnt-out eight-storey block and heritage building and vandalised low-rise offices on a sprawling site.
Trespassers risked broken glass, asbestos and holes in the floor. Some have been seen playing on the roof, which has no guard rail, new photos show.
The site has become a haunt for young people since the NHS moved out in 2023.
Earlier this month Sheffield City Council issued a formal notice requiring beefed up security after video emerged of children hanging off the outside and playing on the roof.
The youngster said: “It seems to attract young people from all over Sheffield. I’ve seen up to 30 in there and some looked as young as 10.
“It is extremely vandalised and very hazardous. People like to get up on the roof but there is no guard rail up there.
“There’s a security guard but it’s very easy to access and the fences aren’t secure.”
