12-year-old girl 'hit by car' outside Sheffield school

A 12-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a Sheffield school.

Police received a call at 3:05pm this afternoon (Tuesday, October 20) to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car near Aston Academy.

It is believed that a blue Ford Fusion collided with a 12 year-old girl outside the school, on Aughton Road in Swallownest.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended and transported the girl to Sheffield Children’s Hospital by land ambulance.

“Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“The driver of the Ford Fusion assisted officers with their enquiries at the scene.”
