South Yorkshire’s police and crime commissioner aims to find out about issues of concern to county residents – by sending his staff to summer galas and fetes.
Shaun Wright’s has already attended the Barnsley Mayor’s Parade, as well as Sheffield Pride on Saturday.
Residents spoken to at both events listed drugs as their main concern.
Mr Wright said: “The results will form an important part of my police and crime plan and will support my vision of making South Yorkshire the safest place to live, learn, work and run businesses.
“I want as many people as possible to let me know what issues are important to them and help me to set my priorities in line with what the public of South Yorkshire actually want.”
Mr Wright’s roadshow is set to visit Rotherham Pride at Clifton Park on Saturday, July 12; an emergency services fun day at Niagara, Wadsley Bridge the following day; Lowedges Festival in Greenhill Park on Sunday, August 10; Doncaster Pride on Saturday, August 16 and Rotherham Show in Clifton Park on the weekend of September 6 and 7.
