Creative workshops in Sheffield focus on engineering past and present

Workshops are to be held in Sheffield for those interested in engineering in the city - past and present.

Ignite Imaginations is to host the sessions tomorrow and the following three Wednesdays at Upper Wincobank Chapel, Wincobank Avenue, between 10am and 2.30pm.

The workshops are aimed at people of all ages with an interest in engineering, heritage and art and will involve working with a professional artist and some engineers to create artwork and contribute to a sculpture for a final exhibition in the spring.

Taking inspiration from Sheffield’s engineering history, tools and landscapes, the sessions will offer the chance to try lino printing, origami, collage, drawing and copper sheet etching.

The workshops are free to take part in and participants can stay for any part of the session.

Ignite Imaginations provides high quality arts activities, including creating writing and the visual arts, in areas where there is little opportunity to engage.
