a MOTORIST was fighting for life in hospital yesterday after he lost control of his car on a bend, ploughed through a wall and into a tree.
The 19-year-old, from Sheffield, was driling along Mortimer Road, Strines, when he failed to negotiate a left hand bend at 12.05am.
He was driving a black Vauxhall Astra towards Sheffield at the time of the smash.
Police said he was taken to the Northern General Hospital in a life threatening condition.
Four other passengers, aged 19 and 20, escaped without serious injuries.
Police closed the road while they investigated the circumstances of the accident.
