A crash and a broken-down horsebox are causing disruption on the M1 in Sheffield this evening.

Two lanes are closed southbound between junctions 30 and 31, near Woodall Services following a collision.

Highways England said shortly after 6.30pm that police were just arriving at the scene and its own traffic officers were en route.

Meanwhile, two lanes are also out of action on the northbound stretch between junction 34 for Meadowhall and junction 35 at Thorpe Hesley due to a stranded horsebox.

Highways England said at around 7pm that the horsebox could not be moved and recovery had been requested.
