"Can parents please park legally around the school and be mindful of pedestrians.

"If problems persist then enforcement measures will be taken."

Writing on Facebook, Kim Moran said: "This has been a problem for far too long. They need to do these checks on a regular basis too, not just once in a few months."

Joanne Curren added: "I've been nudged by a car twice when turning the corner from the shop as they are parking on the pavement.

"If they were going any faster I would have been knocked down for sure."

Lisa Tuck wrote: "I spoke to a police officer again the other day about parents and the way they park. They couldn't care less so long as they get as close to school as possible."

Katherine Joel added: "I don't know why people don't just park a little further away and walk in rather than park on double yellow lines or mount the kerb, which is for pedestrians."
