Abused girlfriend of Sheffield “thug” hid behind car for police following beating inside caravan
Clare also punched his victim in the face and the back of the head on the day of her grandfather’s funeral
The abused girlfriend of a Sheffield “thug” hid behind a car until police showed up following a beating inside a caravan at a Lincolnshire holiday park.
Jordan Clare’s now ex-partner was “not sure” about the trip to Chapel St Leonards, Sheffield Crown Court heard, however when they arrived the defendant returned after a trip to the pub drunk.

In the confined space of the caravan Clare, 25, “dragged her around” and threw a mobile phone at her - causing cuts.
Eugene Cross, prosecuting, said when police arrived she appeared from behind the vehicle “with just one shoe”, “hysterical” and looking “fearfully” behind her saying “he’s here”.
This however was not the first assault.
Judge David Dixon heard on March 21, 2025, Clare punched his victim in the face and the back of the head on the day of her grandfather’s funeral outside the Pack Horse Pub in High Green.
“This was a sad day for your partner when she expected your support,” said the judge. “What she got was a fist in the face.”
During another assault insecure Clare “dragged” the woman out of a flat by her hair because other males were present.
After she ended their relationship Clare spent months sending threats including damage to her car and photos of the vehicle to show he was “following her”.
Finally in April this year “stupid” Clare refused to stop his Land Rover Freelander when police spotted him driving while on the phone.
A pursuit around Fox Hill ended when he jumped from the still-moving vehicle which crashed into a wall.
Francis Edusei said his client had “lost his way somewhat due to alcohol abuse” and had been using his time on remand in jail “reflecting”.
However Judge Dixon told him: “Only an immediate sentence can be justified - there’s little scope for rehabilitation. You minimise everything and fail to accept what you are, at least what these facts consider you to be - which is a thug.
“It was you taking the decision to behave in a way repeatedly that was utterly disgraceful. I see men like you constantly -who think they’re entitled to do what they want to their partners.
“You have deep-seated issues that need to be addressed.”
Clare, of Potters Gate, High Green, was jailed for four-and-a-half years, handed a five-year restraining order and a three-year-11-month driving ban.
He admitted ABH, harassment, dangerous driving and driving unlicensed.
