A MAN convicted of dumping waste has apologised and vowed never to do it again.
Graham John Smith of Wild Avenue, Rawmarsh, pleaded guilty at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court to fly-tipping at Orgreave Lane, Rotherham. He was fined £200, with £160 costs, and a £15 surcharge.
Steven Bennett of Walker Street, Swinton, failed to appear at court but was found guilty in his absence of dropping an ice cream wrapper from a vehicle. He was fined £75, with £60 and £15 costs.
Six more litterbugs – Cassandra Driver of Armstrong Walk, Maltby; Julie Gibson of Henley Rise, Thornhill; Michael Middleton of Broom Lane, Broom; Amanda Bird of Cherry Brook, Eastwood; Mandy Smith of Albert Road, Parkgate; and Kieran Morris of Roading Brook Road, Bolton – were all fined for dropping cigarette ends.
