Court date for Sheffield crash suspect

A MAN accused of causing the deaths of a cyclist and a biker has appeared at court for a preliminary hearing.

Peter Day, aged 53, of Thorpe House Rise, Norton Lees, Sheffield, is charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving after a collision on the A621 Dronfield to Baslow road in September last year.

Kim Broomhead, 51, of Cliff Street, Sharrow, Sheffield, and 28-year-old cyclist Matthew Hook, who lived in Sheffield city centre, both died.They were travelling in opposite directions at the time.

Day has not yet entered pleas to the charges.
