FIREFIGHTERS had to wake a Sheffield couple to inform them their pub was ablaze.

The couple were in bed in the living quarters of The Princess Royal, Sheffield Road, Woodhouse Mill, when a car was set alight outside and flames spread to the pub, another car and fencing.

Flames damaged a downstairs window of the pub and spread to some curtains.

An arson attack was to blame for a Ford Fiesta going up in flames on Strathtay Road, Greystones, Sheffield, and in Longley a VW Polo was set on fire deliberately on Barrie Crescent.
