Countryside views open up for first time

A section of countryside that was previously inaccessible to the public has been opened up for the first time.

Stocksbridge-based charity the Steel Valley Project worked with Sheffield Council to create two new footpaths that connect with existing paths and bridleways so walkers can take in stunning views of Dale Dike reservoir and valleys below Woodseats Farm.

Tom Newman, project manager, said volunteers had learned new skills such as building stiles and dry stone walls.
