POLICE are to step-up patrols of a popular country park after reports of drinking sessions and the theft of a sailing club’s equipment.

The move follows a Rotherham Council assembly meeting being told of the problems at Ulley Country Park.

The meeting heard of beer cans and bottles being left in the park near a bridge over the reservoir where young people have been meeting and jumping into the water.

In addition, equipment from the sailing club at the reservoir had been stolen.
