DELEGATES at the Labour Party conference were given a ‘rousing’ speech on law and order by a Rotherham councillor.
Coun Mahroof Hussain took to the stage in Manchester, when he raised the problem of cuts to police officers in South Yorkshire.
The Labour member for Boston Castle said: “Next week, the Tories at their conference will tell the nation they are for law and order, they are tough on crime but since 2010, they have cut 215 police officers from South Yorkshire police and 1,600 across the country.
“Let us send them a clear message on Thursday, November 15, and elect labour police and crime commissioners across the country.
“I’m campaigning for our candidate Shaun Wright in South Yorkshire.”
