Opposition Sheffield councillors are calling a Town Hall vote on whether efforts should be made to find residents alternative parking spaces during the revamp of the city’s highways.

Liberal Democrats want to see free and secure alternative parking provided to residents by seeking use of car parks owned by organisations such as churches and shops.

The vote will be at Wednesday’s full council meeting – although ruling Labour councillors say the idea is unworkable.
