Dozens of streets around North Derbyshire will benefit from pothole repairs and resurfacing under a £4 million programme.

Derbyshire County Council will be carrying out work over the next 18 months on high priority locations.

Sites include New Road at Barlborough, Castle Street, Bolsover, and Sheffield Road, Bridge Street, High Street and Norwood Crescent, all in Killamarsh.

There will also be work on streets in the Boythorpe and Brampton areas of Chesterfrield, Crow Lane, Unstone, and Staveley Hall Lane, Staveley.

Coun Dean Collins, deputy cabinet member for transport, said: “Last year was an unusually wet summer which was followed by periods of snow and frost which led to severe damage being caused to many roads and pavements.

“We are carrying out improvements where they are most needed.”
