Lee Swords is right saying that Sheffielders are being trapped in an ongoing nightmare.
Labour controlled Sheffield City Council debates Somaliland and its claim to statehood as if they were in charge of foreign policy.
Instead of dealing with practical matters close to home and being concerned with Sheffield interests, they spend their time on futile issues they cannot influence.
Surely the Somaliland community in Sheffield would better contribute to their home nation by returning and trying to put into practice what they have learned here, instead of trying to influence the situation from a distance and being divorced from the real issues.
As for Sheffielders, they should not grumble. Most seem to be quite happy and self-satisfied. They have the local governance they voted for and no doubt they will show that again at the next elections.
