Council orders removal of dozens of tyres dumped outside Sheffield pub
Sheffield Council has ordered the removal of dozens of tyres dumped outside a Sheffield pub.
The tyres have been dumped outside the disused Shiregreen Arms pub on Mason Lathe Road, Shiregreen, over the last month.
Concerned residents have reported matter to Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police.
One woman said: "There were a few at first and then gradually over the last month more have been dumped there.
"It's not so much that they are an eyesore, I am concerned on safety grounds because they are so close to a number of homes. It wouldn't take much for them to go up in flames, so they need moved urgently."
A Sheffield Council spokesman said a complaint about the tyres was received on July 18 and the landowner has been served with a legal notice to remove waste from the site.
