Council on losing side

ALMOST half of the appeals against Doncaster Council planning decisions were successfulyl overturned in the second quarter of 2007.

Council figures reveal Government inspectors disagreed with the council on 13 occasions out of 29 appeals looked at by the Department for Communities and Local Government, representing 45 per cent of the total.

Inspectors agreed with the council’s decision on 14 of the cases, while two appeals were withdrawn, according to the statistics from April 1 until June 30.
