Still no decision has been taken to put a surface on Epworth’s Turbary Road, with Epworth Town Council deciding to invite solicitor Richard Fullwood to talk to members ahead of their next meeting.
After years of debate with North Lincolnshire Council it had appeared that the long-suffering residents were to have a surface laid on their road, using money the town council had been holding for the purpose.
Quotes had even been sourced, and a preferred option almost selected.
But now in a move described as ‘outrageous’ by former councillor Jean Turner, they’re now to call in yet more legal advice with discussions behind closed doors.
Mrs Turner said: “This should be heard in public. Let’s have no more tippy-toeing about! Just get on with it!
“You must get it done before another winter.”
Turbary Road resident Mrs Delise Wager said the council’s decision to consult Mr Fullwood took the process back to 2006, before Epworth Town Council had sought the opinion of a barrister, and she wanted to know what information Mr Fullwood could present that they didn’t already have.
