MORE than 70 apprenticeships are available with Derbyshire Council in the latest part of its drive to create 700 positions during the next four years.

The authority is making 500 positions available across its departments and giving financial support for 200 in private industry.

Details of the second wave of 70 council apprenticeships will given out at three recruitment events, including one at Chesterfield College on Wednesday, July 4.

Apprenticeships, due to start in September, are available in business administration, catering, pipe fitting and vehicle body repairing.

There are also some for trainee teaching assistants and landscape gardeners.
