Could you master coast-to-coast challenge to help modern slavery survivors in Sheffield?

The Snowdrop Project, based in the city centre, helps people rebuild their lives after escaping from modern slavery.

It needs backers to help raise vital funds by signing up for its Coast to Coast cycling challenge this May.

Participants must pedal their way along a picturesque but demanding route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in just two days this May, under the guidance of GB triathlete Carl Egdell.

They have been asked to raise at least £500 in sponsorship, and can book their place before the end of January with a deposit of just £30.

The Co-op is providing accommodation, food and other expenses, ensuring all the money raised will go directly to helping trafficking survivors embrace their new-found freedom.

Denise Lawrenson, Snowdrop's community facilitator, said: "We're excited about this new fundraiser for 2018, led by a GB triathlete. Giving keen cyclists the opportunity to tick off one of the must-do cycling routes in the UK, whilst raising money for a fantastic local charity."
