Could you give a child a home?

Have your say

ROTHERHAM Council is backing a national call for more adoptive parents and foster carers to come forward and give children homes.

Nationally, it is estimated 4,000 youngsters need adopting every year and an extra 9,000 foster carers must be found. In Rotherham there are more than 400 looked-after children, and adoptive families needed for 50 of them.

Two information events, open to all, are being held in the town – about adoption next Tuesday, March 5, from 6pm to 8pm, at Rotherham Holiday Inn, and about fostering next Thursday, March 7, from 6pm to 8pm at Maltby Leisure Centre.
