Corus in aero-steel price rise

Corus Engineering Steels is increasing the price of its aerospace steels by between three and six per cent for all orders scheduled for delivery in the New Year.

The Indian-owned steelmaker, which has plants in Rotherham and Stocksbridge, says demand for aerospace steels is expected to remain high for the foreseeable future, due to the projected build rates for commercial narrow-body aircraft and the development of the next generation of twin-aisle jets.

In addition, global steel markets are expected to remain robust amid high raw material and shipping costs.
