Coroner to discuss digital post mortems at public event in Sheffield

Sheffield and Barnsley coroner, Chris Dorries, is to give a presentation on digital post mortems.

Representatives from iGene, the company which developed digital post mortem technology, will also attend the event at the Pakistan Muslim Centre, Woodbourn Road, Attercliffe, at 7pm on Monday.

In November 2013 a £3 million digital autopsy centre was the first of 18 to open across the UK .

It uses a scanner to examine dead bodies to reduce the need to always cut open a corpse.
