Cooking up a tasty competition down on the farm in Sheffield
Seven Sheffield chefs are taking part in this year's Sheff's Kitchen contest to raise funds for the Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.
The ‘bistro night’ knockout rounds begin at the farm on Sunday, when Jack Baker from the Castle Inn at Bradway, goes head-to-head with Joanne Housley, of Whirlow Hall Farm Café. Simon Ayres, of the Cross Scythes, will cook against Jon Tite, of the Showrom Workstation, on July 10, then Richard Storer, from the Rutland Arms, and Lee Mangles, of Silversmiths, will compete on August 14.
A semi-final in September - with dishes inspired by Roald Dahl’s children’s books - and a grand finale banquet in October, involving 2015’s reigning champion Charlie Curran, from Peppercorn in Dore, will decide the winner. Tickets for the knockout rounds cost £30 per head for three courses.
