CONCERN after more than 50 Christmas trees stolen from Derbyshire site

Derbyshire business owners are being warned to boost security after more than 50 Christmas trees were stolen from a site near Grindleford.

Thieves got away with about 50 Nordland Fir cut Christmas trees after forcing entry to a compound on the Longshaw Estate last week.

The thefts have caused officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team to warn businesses and encourage them to be ‘mindful of where they store their stock’ to help protect it from thieves.

The force is also encouraging anybody with information about the theft to come forward.

It is believed the incident took place sometime between 6pm on Wednesday, December 2 and 9am the following morning, December 3.
