Community set for games day

Have your say

A COMMUNITY in Sheffield is holding its own version of the Olympics next month - but instead of gruelling athletic sports, participants will be showing off their skills in activities such as welly-throwing and tug of war.

The High Green Games is happening on Saturday, July 7, starting at midday.

As well as traditional fun games, stalls, children’s activities, music and refreshments will also be on offer.

The event, organised by the High Hopes Community Group, will also feature a stand providing health advice.

Coun David Pepper, chair of the Ecclesfield Parish Council, will officially launch the games.
