A South Yorkshire hospital has set up an amateur dramatics group to raise funds for it’s hospital’s charity.

Barnsley Hospital’s Amateur Dramatics Group will hold its debut performance, Riff Raff Hotell, at The Civic on December 5.

Riff Raff Hotel is an original comedy, written by the group, and all funds will go to Barnsley Hospital Charity.

Barnsley Hospital Charity supports the care and needs of Barnsley Hospital patients and their families. The kind and generous donations allow the charity to supplement government funding received by Barnsley Hospital and allow the hospital to go that extra mile for their patients.

Script writer Ashley Kingsnorth, advanced speciality oncology dietician, said: “Riff Raff Hotel tells the story of a posh wife and her husband who visit a high-end hotel to celebreate their 40th wedding anniversary, but everything starts to go wrong. This is the first time Barnsley Hospital has had an amateur dramatics group and we’re so excited to perform and raise funds.”
