Comeback kings Sheffield go for win treble

Sheffield FC will be aiming to maintain their 100 percent start to the season at the expense of Nantwich Town at the Bright Finance Stadium.

For the second game in a row Club came from behind to claim a 2-1 win at Goole in midweek thanks to a late goal from Tom Jones, taking them to second in the table behind Quorn on goal-difference after making it maximum points from two games.

Like Sheffield, Nantwich were promoted to the UniBond First Division South after finishing third in the North West Counties League where they lost just five times in 42 league games, so are likely to give Sheffield another stern test.

On Monday, Sheffield are at Warrington Town who have one point after two games.

After picking up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Belper on Tuesday, Stocksbridge Park Steels kick-off the Bank Holiday weekend with a trip to Brigg Town, followed by Monday's tough home clash against unbeaten Colwyn Bay.

Steels boss Gary Marrow was delighted with his side's first point of the season thanks to new signing Simon Collins late equaliser saying: "It was no more than we deserved."

Marrow will again be without central defender Brett Lovell through suspension, while Adam Oldham remains doubtful after missing the Belper game through injury.

Retford United visit Goole as both sides look to bounce back from midweek defeats.

Peter Duffield suffered his first loss as Retford boss with a 2-1 setback at Grantham and with Kidsgrove Athletic the visitors on Monday the Badgers look set for a tough weekend.

In the Premier Division, Frickley Athletic, Matlock Town and Buxton all start the weekend with home games.

Frickley will be looking for their first win when they take on Marine before visiting Whitby Town on Monday.

After beating Lincoln United 2-1 in midweek, Matlock will be aiming for a second successive home victory at the expense of Whitby Town, then visit Stamford two days later.

Buxton look to bounce back from their 2-0 home defeat against Hednesford Town when they entertain Kendal Town before travelling to Ossett Town on Monday, who are without a point in two outings.

Worksop Town,without a game tomorrow, are at Lincoln United on Monday as they bid to banish the disappointment of Tuesday 2-1 home defeat against Eastwood Town following a fine victory away at Marine four days earlier.

Alfreton Town sit bottom of the Blues Square North after three defeats and face a tough trip to Tamworth after which comes a home encounter with Boston United on Monday, who only four months were in League Two, as the Reds face a big weekend.
