Column: Record ideas, don't lose them

As we're already a quarter of the way through 2017 I trust you've got your business and personal goals for this year planned out?

A mistake I’ve noticed the majority of people make, is not writing down their goals for the year.

Some of them plan everything inside their head and some end up procrastinating and not doing anything at all.

My golden advice to you is to always make sure you have your goals written down, in fact get in the habit of writing everything down.

Whether it is about your personal life or your business life, brainstorming ideas and making notes of things will make things a whole lot easier for you.

Any ideas that are not written down are lost forever.

Do not rely on memory. All the top entrepreneurs I know, the likes of Richard Branson for example, even in the world of technology, have a notebook and a pen to capture their ideas.

This technique is vital for success. If you aren’t doing this, may I suggest that you start right away.

This will prevent you from overthinking in your head, and will motivate you to get out there and tick all the boxes on your to-do list.

The mind should always be clear, otherwise you will lose control of your thoughts and end up making the wrong decisions.

Another tip is if you happen to have huge goals that might seem unattainable, make sure to break it down to a smaller set of goals and go about it realistically.

It is all about your attitude towards achieving goals and how badly you want them.
