STUDENTS at a South Yorkshire college have welcomed the introduction of a new training allowance which rewards their attendance.
The ground breaking DVC Training Allowance at Dearne Valley College rewards students with £10 per week for 100 per cent attendance.
DVC is the only college in South Yorkshire to offer all existing and new 16 to 18-year- old full-time students and apprentices a weekly payment to incentivise full college attendance.
An annual achievement bonus of £100 will also be awarded for those who complete their programme with consistently excellent attendance over the coming academic year.
Ioan Morgan, DVC Interim Principal, said: “It is the college’s responsibility to make learning as accessible as possible.”
