TWO new parents and their baby have moved 160 miles away from their rented house in Sheffield after the boiler broke down twice.
Lisa Green, Jonathan Charles, and baby Leo, 11 months, are staying with her parents in Hertfordshire because of the cold.
Problems started when the 12-year-old boiler at the house on Valley Road, Meersbrook, packed in on December 19 leaving them without heating or hot water.
Lisa, 27, said it was fixed shortly after Christmas. But it failed again on January 8 and the couple went to stay with Lisa’s parents.
Lisa said: “Our baby was suffering, he had a cold and he couldn’t sleep in his cot because of the temperature.”
ROB Bennett of Property Plus Lettings, Chesterfield Road, said the boiler was fixed on Tuesday.
He was checking it was still working before phoning Lisa to inform her. The house owner lives in Norway and some bills had to be authorised by her, he added.
