School pupils rubbed shoulders with older residents at a specially-arranged coffee morning - and they also learned a thing or two.

Youngsters at King Ecgbert School in Dore hosted the event on Monday, November 14, as part of a scheme to bring different generations together.

Representatives from the Royal Voluntary Service were also on hand to help the youngsters to co-ordinate the morning.

While enjoying a nice cup of tea or coffee, the elderly visitors and Year 11 health and social students talked about how life has changed through the years and played games as part of a ‘skill-swapping’ session.
