Sisters Rona and Heather Stevenson, who have their own women’s clothes and accessories brand One Hundred Stars and run ‘Within Reason’ on Devonshire Street, have seen their kimonos being worn by the stars of ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’.

Rona and Heather’s clothing line, which is inspired by the talented duo’s love of adventure, have been favoured among Sheffield shoppers since the One Hundred Stars branch was launched in 2015 - but Paramount Pictures clearly thought they were perfect for the feel of their latest blockbuster sequel too.

The gowns and mini kimonos are featured prominently in the film and are worn in key scenes by the stars Anna Seyfried, Christine Baranski and Julie Walters.

Anna Seyfried wears the mini kimono called ‘Valerie Paris’ in the film. The pretty pink design is based on the map that Rona and Heather’s Mum Valerie used as she left 1960’s Hillsborough as a teenager seeking adventure in Paris.

Rona said the pair were over the moon that their travel-inspired designs had been featured in such a big film, been worn by house hold names and made it Vis in Croatia - where the title’s picture-perfect holiday scenes were shot.

She said: “‘We are incredibly proud to be featured in the Mamma Mia sequel. It’s such a fun film to be associated with and it suits the spirit of romance and adventure that our brand is all about.”

This is not the first time the One Hundred Stars brand has caught the eye of celebrities. The Venice gown, which was designed around the Italian city’s canals, was recently worn on television by chef Nigella Lawson.

Rona added: “After the rush in sales which happened after Nigella Lawson was featured wearing our Venice map gown in her series ‘At My Table’ we’ve made sure we have a large stock of the featured items at ‘Within Reason’”

The gowns are part of a collection which includes scarves, kimonos, kaftans and nightwear. The lightweight, flowing fabrics are perfect for a capsule holiday wardrobe. The designs include vintage maps, graphic prints and on trend botanical patterns.

All pieces are designed in their Sheffield based studio before being manufactured in a family run fabric factory in India. Craftsmanship is key for Rona and Heather and they ensure that they are supporting traditional skills by using techniques such as hand dying and screen printing.
