Clive to help kids achieve their goals

A FORMER Sheffield Wednes day and Rotherham United football coach has teamed-up with a Rotherham soccer school to help kids achieve their goals.

Ex-Owls academy director Clive Baker has been recruited to deliver the weekly ‘On-Side Soccer’ sessions at Manvers Park in Wath.

Clive has over 50 years of experience in the game at top level and is currently assessing the coaches of the future.

The weekly coaching sessions are run by Sheffield Wednesday and Dearne Valley College. and take place every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 6pm.

DVC Sports and The Owls developed the scheme to improve training for children.

Clive said: “We want to make physical activity fun for young people. “The most exciting aspect of it is that children who perform well in these sessions will have the opportunity to train with the Sheffield Wednesday Academy and be potential stars of the future.”
