Climber injured in fall from crag

A CLIMBER was airlifted to hospital with back and hand injuries after he fell 30ft from a crag face near Hathersage.

The 40-year-old, from Healey Green, Cheadle, Greater Manchester, was leading a climb when he fell.

Members of Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Teams were called out to help the climber, who was carried on a stretcher to a helicopter to be flown to hospital for further treatment.

The team was also called out to deal with a pensioner who fell ill and collapsed at Grindleford.
