A CAMPAIGN group lobbying for the creation of more jobs in industries that tackle climate change is visiting Sheffield next week.

The Climate Jobs Caravan is in the city on Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19, promoting employment in areas such as public transport, home insulation and renewable energy.

A promotional vehicle will be in Tudor Square, Sheffield city centre, on the Friday from noon to 6pm, with live music and films on show.

Then, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, a debate is taking place in the Quaker Meeting House, with speeches by John Stewart, chairman of the One Million Climate Jobs campaign, and Martin Mayer, president of the Sheffield Trades Council.

Further discussions are happening in a workshop from 10am to 12.30pm on the Saturday.

The caravan is touring 25 towns and cities across Britain in a bid to promote climate jobs.
