A meandering moggy has been reunited with his owners – after turning himself in at an animal charity shop in Sheffield.
Jack, a black and white tom, wandered into the Sheffield Cat Shelter charity shop on Ecclesall Road where concerned staff quickly set about tracing the friendly feline’s owners.
A quick trip to the vets with charity volunteer, Eleanor Haigh, revealed Jack was mircochipped but unfortunately he didn’t have any registered details. After feeding their unexpected guest back at the shop staff found Jack a temporary carer and posted his picture and details on Facebook.
Thankfully, his owner in Gleadless spotted the post and was quickly reunited with her precious pet.
The shop’s supervisor Katy Gibbs said: “We couldn’t just leave him - we’re on a busy road, it wasn’t safe. We will never know Jack’s side of the story - but we’re sure he can read!”
