STREET cleaners in Sheffield had more than litter to contend with as one of their vehicles leaked oil in the city centre.
The spill stretched around the site of the new market on The Moor yesterday, after being caused by a break in the hydraulic pipe of a cleaning machine.
Chris Morris, of Streets Ahead, said: “One of our vehicles had a small fuel leak. This was dealt with on the spot by putting down sand which made the area safe. We arranged for the area to be cleaned extensively outside of peak hours to minimise impact to pedestrians.”
