Classic cars to roar into city

Have your say

A CONVOY of classic cars will cruise into Sheffield for a weekend of motor-mad fun.

Hundreds of petrolheads from across the UK are expected to flock to Steel City Cruisers’ annual show on Sunday, September 9.

The event has taken place at the home of Rotherham United every year in its 20-year history, but has moved now venues to Hooton Lodge, Kilnhurst Road, Rotherham.

Around 350 vehicles including hot rods, American and classic cars, motorbikes and vans, will be on display from 11am.

Motoring fans from as far afield as Glasgow and London have been lined up to show off their prized possessions.

There will be food, trade stands, and a live band to keep revellers entertained.

Admission is £3 per adult and children can enter free. Proceeds from the show will be donated to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston. Last year, the show raised £2,500 for the charity and organisers are hoping for a strong turnout to smash the fundraising total this time around.
