Civic roles after course

Have your say

THIRTY-five South Yorkshire residents have completed a government-funded course aimed at engaging local people with the civic and political process.

Participants on the ‘Making a Change’ programme have been inspired to be more active in their communities, with most landing civic roles such as school governors, councillors, and magistrates.

Rotherham councillor Mahroof Hussein said: “It is fantastic to hear how it has inspired them to take up a more active part in their communities.”
