City Monopoly game launched

IT'S time to pass Go - Sheffield style.

The city got its own version of Monopoly today with the launch of the game at the City Hall - and of course The Star features on it.

The paper appears on a Community Chest square with the City Hall occupying the most expensive spot usually reserved for Mayfair.

Delighted City Hall general manager Dominic Stokes said: "We are very proud to have won the top spot on the new Monopoly Sheffield board.

"I'd like to thank all the people who voted for us to win in the media campaign we launched. Our customers are very loyal and we really appreciate it."

The second most valuable spot on the board, usually occupied by Park Lane, is Meadowhall and controversially Sheffield United's Bramall Lane ground occupies a more expensive slot than Wednesday's Hillsborough.

The game is available in shops from today.
