City Hall greats recalled in print

SOME of Sheffield City Hall’s most famous gigs of the 1960s are to be revisited next week at a book launch event with a difference.

Shows by the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and others were an inspiration for young Sheffielder Michael Glover who went on to be a celebrated poet and art critic.

The former Firth Park Grammar School pupil will be launching his autobiography, Headlong Into Pennilessness, at Sheffield City Hall next Monday, from 6pm.
