“We create what we love and what we think people will enjoy having.”

The pair produce a range of beautiful products, from rugs and cushions to brighten your home to comfort blankets to settle babies. Being an online business, their designs have caught the eye of customers worldwide, and since the business was created in 2012 the duo have sent their creations across the globe.

Katie added: “We love seeing customer pictures where they have given their baby one of our blankets.

“In fact, we have a customer in America who has got us to make six for her little girl. She loves it so much she won’t be without it, so it can go in the wash.”

Homespunwnders was created from a love of knitting and crocheting, and it’s not just mother and daughter who enjoy the crafts.

Katie said: “We were both taught to knit by my great aunt Sheila – I was four when she first taught me.

“I taught my mum to crochet a few years ago and now she is way quicker then me. Knitting and crochet has definitely come back in to fashion and you see lots of celebrities knitting and crocheting now, like Katherine Heigl.”

Katie and Heather love the crafts so much, they even decided to make their own yarn – Yorkshire Dale Yarn is their own brand of hand dyed yarns, which they also sell online.

Katie said: “We have always loved yarn and bought from lots of indie dyers but there were some colourways, both plain and variegated, that we found hard to find so we thought we would create our own and Yorkshire Dale Yarns was born.

“We are especially proud of our yarn boxes which contain specially themed yarns and extra goodies. They are all lovingly put together and gift-wrapped. We have an Easter Yarn Box as well as our monthly and seasonal boxes

The duo are proud of their Sheffield roots, and wanted to reflect this in their creation.

Katie added: “Our colourways are based on the flora, fauna and wildlife of the Yorkshire Countryside.”
