THE long serving secretary to the Sheffield Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches is retiring from his post at the end of this month.
Graham Williams has offered help and detailed advice for a decade on the development, improvement and adaptation of church buildings in the city.
Canon Peter Ingram, chair of the Sheffield DAC, said: “I know many people in churches across the region have had personal experience of Graham’s attention to detail and his knowledge as they have sought guidance in repairing and reordering churches, and maintaining churchyards. “
Graham’s area of work will be covered by others until a successor is sought. Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, added: “We wish him a long and happy retirement and thank him for all he has done.”
