Choirs of children bring Christmas to Crystal Peaks

The sound of Christmas is heading to Crystal Peaks shopping mall next month, as child from neighbouring schools sings a selection of their festive favourites.

Pupils off all ages from the Westfield family of schools - which includes three nursery infant schools, three junior schools, three primary schools and a secondary school - will be at the shopping centre’s East Mall on December 15, to present a special concert of Christmas songs for evening shoppers.

“We always very closely with the Westfield family of schools and are delighted to welcome them on this special evening,” said centre manager Lee Greenwood.

The concert will take place outside ToyrRUs from 6pm.

And three days later, on December 18, the Crystal Peaks Food Court will be the setting for the centre’s annual carol service.

Shoppers can enjoy complimentary seasonal delicacies before joining in a selection of favourite carols headed by the Rev Stephen Horton of Crystal Peaks Church, from 4.30pm

“The Crystal Peaks Church is very much a part of the centre’s life,” Lee explained.

“A few years ago we thought that it would be good to organise a carol service so that we could have a little of the original Christmas meaning on display.

“The feedback we received was excellent, with many people making a special trip to the centre to sing carols and it’s now become an important part of Christmas life for us here, and one that many of our visitors really look forward to.”

The Santa’s Grotto will be open at Crystal Peaks shopping centre daily from November 30 to December 24. Children can join Santa’s Elves in the Candy Cane Kitchen to create edible treats before meeting the man himself.
