Choir proves a hit with charity

A CHOIR helped raise £200 for Sheffield-based charity Support Dogs at a performance at Meadowhall shopping centre in the run up to Christmas.

Choir That Rocks sang for shoppers to raise money for the charity, while leaflets were handed out to raise awareness of what Support Dogs does – training autism-assistance, disability-assistance and seizure-alert dogs.

Rita Howson, the charity’s operations director, said: “We are aware that, financially, things are tight and so we are very grateful to the shoppers who came along and contributed what they could.”

Kate Threlfall, choir leader, said: “To know we have made a contribution to such a worthwhile charity made it all the more special.”
